Zeos is locked in a long standing war of attrition with its twin planet Atrios . It was said that before the war the Atrians traded with the Zeons. However, when the fourth Doctor and Romana visited Zeos in search of Princess Astra they found that there were no Zeons on Zeos.
Zeos is also an underground world, although there is no evidence of damage from the war.
What they did find was the Zeon commandant known as Mentalis, a machine created by Drax to fight the war. Communication with Mentalis was made through K-9 who, as a robot, was the only one who could. When Mentalis became threatened by the craft of the Atrian Marshal it started the Armageddon factor, which would destroy both Zeos and Atrios.
