The Vampire Planet could almost be an E-Space copy of Earth during the Middle Ages. The gravity and atmosphere are almost identical. A day lasts for 23.3 hours and a year lasts for 350 days.

All science and knowledge on the planet was outlawed by the Lords who resided in a great tower. Some people practised science in secret; the penetaly was death.

When the fourth Doctor and Romana visited the planet they found that the Lords were originally from Earth and had become trapped in E-Space. But there was something far more sinister in control living under the tower.
