Thoros Beta

Probably the most colourful planet the Doctor has ever visited, Thoros Beta is twin planet of Thoros Aplha which is visible from the beach.

Thoros Beta is the homeworld of the Mentors, the controlling force behind the Galatron Mining Corporation and other companies. The Doctor visited Thros Beta whilst investigating the selling of phasers to a warlord of Thordon.

The Mentors used Thoros Alphans as slaves and as guinea pigs. The Doctors visit coincided with attempts to save the leader of the Mentors, Kiv.

A scientist named Crozier was attempting to relieve the pressure on Kiv's skull as Kiv's brain grew. Attempts to transplant the brain into another body had limited success. Eventually Crozier chose to transplant the mind of Kiv into the brain of Peri.

There are two conflicting reports of what happened afterwards. One is that the experimnt worked. The Time Lords then used King Ycarnos as an assassin to kill Peri. The second is that the experiment didn't happen, and Peri still lives as a warrior Queen with King Ycarnos.
