Metebilis 3 is an attractive planet with ranges of blue mountains towering over landscapes dotted with large buildings. The planet's surface is strewn with different coloured gems, particularly the blue crystal whgich can enhance the powers of the mind.
The third Doctor has visited Metebelis 3, otherwise known as the Blue Planet, twice. On the first visit, not seen on screen, he
collected a blue crytsal to give to Jo Grant as a leaving/wedding present. On the second occasion he visited during an attempt
by the new rulers, the Giant Spiders, to invade Earth.
