The Matrix

The Matrix is a collection of trillions of electro-chemical cells arranged in a continuous electronic matrix. The Matrix contains the sum of the Time Lords' knowledge. At the moment of death an electrical scan is made of the brain, and the contents added to the matrix.

The Matrix is used by the Time Lords to monitor events throughout the Universe. It can even be used to make predictions of future events. The President of the Time Lords is linked to the Matrix via the Coronet of Rassilon.

The Matrix can be invaded, and has been invaded by the likes of the Master and the Valeyard, among others. Once inside the Matrix the controller can use it to create any landscape they choose. Inside the Matrix the only logic is that there is no logic.
