Karfel orbits two suns, Rearbus and Selynx. It is inhabitated by the humanoid Karfelons and the savage Morlox. Karfel has an uneasy relationship with the neighbouring planet of Bandril.
Both the third Doctor (not televised) and the sixth Doctor have visited Karfel. When the sixth Doctor visited Karfel he found a very different society, one that was at war with the Bandrils, a war he managed to prevent.
