Vervoids

The Vervoids were an intelligent plantlife created by a team of scientists, Doland and Bruchner, led by Professor Sarah Lasky.

As well as possessing inteligence, the Vervoids could also speak and hear. Lasky planned to use the Vervoids to carry out mundane tasks which they would be able to undetake for little more than some light and food.

They were being transported on board the Hyperion III, but an accident occured whereby high intensity light was allowed to fiter through, awakening the Vervoids.

At a basic level, humans consume plant life. The Vervoids planned to consume all animal kind. The sixth Doctor and Mel managed to defeat the Vevoids by turing accelerating their life using vionesium.
