The Karfelons are a friendly humanoid race of the planet Karfel. Although not televised, the third Doctor and Jo have visited Karfel.
When the sixth Doctor and Peri visit the Doctor finds a very different society. All reference to the Doctor's previous visit has been removed, although some still have momentos, and there is a picture of the third Doctor behind one of the walls. The Karfelons are not particularly advanced, which makes the Doctor suspicious when he finds a time corridor eminating from Karfel.
The Karfelons are ruled by the Borad, a person who was once a Karfelon but has mutated into a Morlox. He appears
as a normal Karfelon via monitor screens, which is the way the Karfelons think of him.
The Borad, unbeknown to the Karfelons, planned to provoke a war between the Karfelons and the Bandrils, leaving him in charge of a barren world. He could then populate the planet of Karfel with more Borad. To do this he would need a female mutant Morlox. The Borad became mutated after an accident between a Morlox and muskatozine-80. He planned to recreate the accident using Peri as the victim.
