Ice Warriors

The Ice Warriors are giant green scaly creatures from a savagely militaristic race. Coming from the supercool Mars they can survive well in cold temperatures, but warm temperatures will kill. On their claws they carry a powerful sonic weapon.

The Ice Warriors were first discovered after one was found during Earth's second ice age. They had been scouting out the planet when they had become entombed in the ice.

They later tried to attack Earth and alter it's climate to suit their needs. In both cases the second Doctor thwarted their plans.

When the third Doctor met them they were allies at a conference to invite Peladon into the Federation. When he encountred them on Peladon at a later time they had reverted to their militaristic ways.
