The Garm

The Garm is a dog-like creature a little larger than a human being. The Garm was immune to radiation, and was used by the Vanir to take people infected with the Lazars disease into the radioactive forbidden zone of the Terminus transport ship.

When the Terminus was nearly destroyed, the Doctor asked the Garm to help prevent the ship's destruction. The Garm, using its superior strength, was able to avert disaster.

After the Garm had completed the Doctor's request it asked that the Doctor destroyed the subsonic generator, the device the Vanir used to control the Garm. The Doctor agreed.

The Vanir feared that they had lost control over the Garm, until the Doctor suggested that instead of forcing the Garm to work for them, they asked him.
